Institutional identity

Who we are

The Institute for African Compact on Education (IACE) is a pan-African institution for research, training and accompaniment, established to support the implementation of the African Compact on Education within the particular Churches, schools and Catholic universities of the continent. Faithful to the vision of the Global Compact on Education promoted by Pope Francis and enriched by the guidance of Pope Leo XIV, the Institute works to strengthen the quality of Catholic education in Africa by fostering collaboration among episcopal conferences, universities, school networks and international partners.

To fulfil its missions, the Institute relies on several complementary bodies. These bring together Church leaders, academics, education experts and practitioners committed to promoting an integral, inclusive and transformative education. Together, these bodies provide strategic direction, scientific oversight and pastoral accompaniment for the implementation of the African Compact on Education across the different regions of the continent.
